As a graduate student in Ball State University‘s Curriculum and Educational Technology Masters program, this site has been developed as my digital portfolio.
I am actually not a teacher, though I am a licensed K-12 All Subjects substitute through the Ohio Department of Education and have been a substitute teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. I currently work as a Course Approval Specialist / Subject Matter Expert for the United States Coast Guard’s Training and Assessment Branch at the National Maritime Center. In that role, my primary job function is reviewing and approving courses (and instructors and sites) taught by schools across the country for merchant mariners. Fun fact: I am a licensed ship captain.
Outside of my professional life, I live in Cleveland, Ohio with my wife, Sarah; dog, Johnny; and cat, Gato. I enjoy reading, most outdoor activities (walking, hiking, fly fishing, etc), cooking, coffee, and watching women’s sports.
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. I look forward to sharing my education journey.
