I am excited to introduce a brand-new blog post series: Steal Like a Teacher – Quick Clicks!
Last year, I launched the Steal Like a Teacher podcast series, inspired by Austin Kleon’s influential book, Steal Like an Artist. Kleon’s main concept is that that truly original ideas are rare, and creativity often arises from borrowing, remixing, and building upon the ideas of others. This resonates deeply with the world of education.
Similarly, groundbreaking educational practices rarely emerge from thin air. Instead, they evolve from the collective experiences, insights, and creativity shared among educators, students, administrators, and communities. As Larry Cuban points out in The Enduring Classroom, teachers refine their craft through a blend of trial and error, academic training, research adaptation, and, importantly, collaboration with fellow educators.
Every person involved in education, from teachers and administrators to students and families, brings a valuable perspective shaped by unique experiences. By exploring these diverse perspectives, we enrich our understanding, enhance our strategies, and ultimately, elevate our teaching practices.
That’s exactly the aim of this blog series: each post will highlight curated educational resources, such as articles, blog posts, webinars, events, and videos, through my personal lens and shared with you. By “stealing” ideas from everywhere, we open ourselves to continued personal and professional growth that extends beyond us and into classrooms.
Keep an eye out for the first edition of Quick Clicks, coming your way soon!
